After I changed clothes and wiped up the water from the floor, I went to the kitchen for breakfast. On my way down the stairs Jeremy, my father, shouted his good bye to me as he walked out the front door. I really wasn’t all that hungry after what I had seen when I had first awoken but thankfully my father had just left. I had to force down every bite and plus I probably looked like a zombie since I was thinking so hard on what might be going on.

My mother always cried when I left for my father’s house. I’d been going every summer since I was three years old. This time I understood the tears, I had made my decision to stay there for my remaining high school years.
